John was born in northeastern North Carolina. At age 13 John's parents began escorting him on weekend nights into dance clubs so he could perform on the drums with his band. By age 20 John found himself at S.I.R. Studios in New York City auditioning for multi-platinum record producer Eumir Deodato (Kool & the Gang) and in front of five major record companies. By age 21 John had completed work at The House of Music Studios in West Orange, NJ for an album released on Arista Records (founded by Clive Davis) and also for a second album released on Warner Brothers Records. Once back at home John returned to school and completed his college education. John currently lives in Virginia with his wife and children. John enjoys swimming, boating, water skiing, and cookouts.
